Art: Japan in the land of the rising sun

My art created after my first trip to Japan 2016. At that time I’ve only been sketching travels for 1 year, this is the first time I try to use those media,

Media: AD marker, Prismacolor color pencils, white jell pen and black micron pens, Canson water color pad, the paper has texture.

Location: Two iconic places in Japan.

First story is by the Chureito pagoda on a hilltop facing Mt. Fuji in Arakurayama Sengen Park that’s reached via 398 steps. Located in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi Prefecture.

Second story is by the Itsukushima shirne, locaerted inItsukushima, also known as Miyajima, which is a small island in Hiroshima Bay, western Japan.

Story: The reason I use Tattoo is to express the feeling of this trip will stay with me for the rest of my life. Traveling truly inspires me, you don’t just look at the sunset, you also feel the sunset, you can be part of the picture with Mt Fuji, you can share the moment with strangers and be the part of their story. It opens my world so the things use to matter so much aren’t important anymore.

One year after my visit to Japan, I moved to Tokyo. will share more travel stories and art about Japan.

Hope it inspires you to travel as well. Let me know your first life changing travel experience.

Love, Julia
